NEON has released the final trailer for Hokum (2026), an Irish supernatural horror rooted in witchcraft and folklore.
Written and directed by Damian McCarthy, known for the unsettling Caveat (2020) and Oddity (2024), the film stars Adam Scott (Krampus, The Monkey) and is set to open in U.S. theaters on May 1.
The story follows Ohm Bauman (Adam Scott), a writer who travels to a remote part of Ireland to scatter his parentsā ashes. What begins as a deeply personal journey soon takes a darker turn, as the house he stays in appears to harbor a sinister presence tied to ancient practices and a past that resurfaces in increasingly unsettling ways.
Hokum premiered on March 14, 2026 at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival, where it drew attention for its dark atmosphere and slow-building tension.
The film is rated R for violent/disturbing content and language.
The cast also includes Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, Florence Ordesh, Will O'Connell, Michael Patrick, Brendan Conroy, and Austin Amelio.
