Lucky Red has released the official Italian trailer for Hokum, the new horror film from Damian McCarthy, who follows Caveat and Oddity with another horror story driven by psychological tension and powerful visual imagery.
Starring Emmy Award nominee Adam Scott (Krampus, The Monkey), Hokum tells a story rooted in witchcraft and folkloric beliefs.
Hokum opens in Italian theaters on August 5.

The story follows the fragile writer Ohm Bauman (Adam Scott), who travels to a remote part of Ireland to scatter his parents' ashes. What is meant to be a quiet moment of reflection takes a disturbing turn when the house where he is staying is revealed to be connected to a dark presence, ancient practices, and a past that gradually resurfaces in increasingly sinister ways.
Hokum premiered on March 14, 2026, at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival, where it drew attention for its dark atmosphere and slow-building tension.
The film is rated R for violent/disturbing content and language.
Alongside Adam Scott, the cast includes Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, Florence Ordesh, Will O'Connell, Michael Patrick, Brendan Conroy, and Austin Amelio.
