In 2014 we wrote a couple of news stories about the short film Hidden Devil, following it since its early development. More than two years later, we are back to talk about this Spanish film regarding the release of the official poster. The release date, on the other hand, will be announced soon.
Hidden Devil traces the clichés of horror genre cinema by mixing them with fantasy and even mythology. It is directed by Spaniard Fran Mateu, director of the award-winning Historia Muerta (Dead Story).
In Hidden Devil animation technique (by Joan MartÃn Giménez) was exploited. There is no shortage of special and digital effects by David Insidefx.
The film also features a cast of real actors whose names answer to those of Javier Botet (REC, Mama, Witching & Bitching), Javier Bódalo (The Devil's Backbone, Ghost Promotion) and Aida Folch. Pepe Mediavilla (Spanish voice actor who voiced Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings and also Morgan Freeman) will lend his voice.
Plot: Once upon a time, King Välak and Queen Thâis were the guardians of the ancient world, a neutral place where neither pain nor death existed. One day, however, evil managed to creep in and later even manifest itself, upsetting the balance and harmony of their lives.
The screenplay for Hidden Devil is edited by Fran Mateu, Jesús DÃaz and Miguel Herrero Herrero.
The creation of the characters was handled by David Ambit's Inside FX.
Cafetico Films S.L. (Paco Soto and Carol Colomer), Interface Spain TM (MarÃa Lledó and Claus Olsen) and Cinestesia (Miguel Herrero) produced the film.
