According to reports from Collider, the reboot of Hellraiser received a Rating R due to "violence, blood and nudity," and is scheduled for release by 2022.
Produced by Spyglass Media Group, this new chapter on the cenobites, the eleventh, is from Hulu and features David Bruckner (The Ritual, The Night House) directing.
The cast includes Odessa A'Zion, Brandon Flynn (Thirteen), Drew Starkey (The Streets of Evil), Odessa A'Zion (Ladyworld, Grand Army) and Jamie Clayton (The Snowman, The Chain), the latter as Pinhead.
The screenplay, on the other hand, is by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski (SiREN, Super Dark Times) while Clive Barker appears on the project as a producer.
Hellraiser (1987) by Clive Barker is the first installment of the saga to which nine sequels are connected, the last three of which are unpublished in Italy. The film is based on the short horror novel Slaves of hell (The Hellbound Heart) by the same director.
The history of all the chapters of Hellraiser is connected to a cube called the "Configuration of Lamentations" or "Lemarchand Box." It is an object with a puzzle structure that, when solved, opens the door to the dimension of pain and, more specifically, hell, where victims will be tortured forever by Pinhead and his Cenobites.
