According to Deadline's announcement today, Millennium Media and Dark Horse Entertainment will produce the Hellboy: The Crooked Man, the new chapter in the saga dedicated to the character created by cartoonist Mike Mignola in 1993.
Directing the project is Brian Taylor (Gamer, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Mom and Dad) while the script has been entrusted to Chris Golden and Mike Mignola, the creator of Hellboy as well as the screenwriter of all chapters in the franchise.
Processing will start next month in Bulgaria while cast selection is underway these weeks.
Hellboy: The Crooked Man will be a reboot and will feature Hellboy and a rookie B.P.R.D. agent grappling with a witch community in the Appalachian Mountains of the 1950s.
The film is based on the comic book of the same name with drawings by Richard Corben, published by Dark Horse Comics in July 2008. In Italy, the comic book is featured in Hellboy Omnibus vol.5 by Magic Press with the title. The deformed man.
