Currently in post-production, Hatching (aka Pahanhautoja) is the title of the body horror featuring Hanna Bergholm, a Finnish screenwriter and director who has a number of short films behind her including the recent Puppet Master of 2018.

The story of Hatching features Tinja (Siiri Solalinna), a 12-year-old gymnast desperately trying to please her mother, a woman who, through her popular blog, obsessively tries to convey to the world the image of a perfect family.
One night Tinja finds a strange egg that he decides to hide without his parents' knowledge and keep warm until it hatches, but the monstrous being that will be hatched will not be his friend.
Siiri Solalinna, Sophia Heikkila, Jani Volanen, Oiva Ollila, Reino Nordin, and Ida Määttänen are part of the cast.
The screenplay, on the other hand, is by Ilja Rautsi.
