Plot: Forty years after the killing spree of Michael Myers (Nick Castle), the serial killer becomes the subject of a crime documentary. When the film crew visits him in prison, the man escapes, retrieves his mask and begins hunting Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). Convinced all along in his return, the woman has constantly tried over the years to protect her daughter and granddaughter from the psychopath. Now she is ready to confront him.

In the cast of Halloween there are also Miles Robbins (My Friend Dahmer), Drew Scheid (Stranger Things), Andi Matichak, Dylan Arnold, Rob Niter, James Jude Courtney and Rhian Rees.
Director David Gordon Green co-wrote the screenplay with Danny McBride.
The film is produced by Trancas International Films, Blumhouse Productions and Miramax.

John Carpenter worked on the music together with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. The new soundtrack will pay homage to the music from the first installment of the franchise.
