Universal ha annunciato la data di uscita in home video di Halloween, the direct sequel to Halloween - The Night of the Witches (1978) by John Carpenter. Halloween sarà disponibile per il video on demand a partire dal 28 dicembre mentre uscirà in DVD e Blu-ray il 15 gennaio 2019 (mercato USA).

In questo nuovo capitolo del franchise Laurie Strode e Michael Myers si scontrano nuovamente quarant’anni dopo il loro ultimo incontro. Nel cast ci sono gli stessi attori del film di Carpenter ovvero Jamie Lee Curtis (nei panni di Laurie Strode) e Nick Castle (Michael Myers).
Plot: Four decades after Michael Myers' killing spree, the heinous masked serial killer becomes the subject of a crime documentary. When the film crew visits him in prison, the killer escapes and begins hunting Laurie Strode. Convinced all along in his return, the woman is ready to confront him.
Nel cast troviamo anche Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Virginia Gardner, Will Patton, James Jude Courtney, Haluk Bilginer, Rhian Rees, Toby Huss, Jefferson Hall, Virginia Gardner, Dylan Arnold, Miles Robbins e Drew Scheid.
Director David Gordon Green co-wrote the script for the film with Danny McBride.
John Carpenter appears in the 2018 film as creative consultant, executive producer, and author of the soundtrack.
