Variety shared the new image by Macabre (Brazil - 2020), the crime thriller based on the true story of two young necrophilic brothers (Ibraim and Henrique de Oliveira), accused of a series of horrific murders in Brazil in the 1990s.
Produced and directed by Marcos Prado, the film is supported by the producers of Elite Squad, Brazil's Zazen Prods and Jose Padilha.
Also Macabre (aka Macabre) is co-produced by Disney/Fox Brazil, Globo Filmes and São Paulo-based Querosene Films.
The story follows a detective who begins to believe that racism played a role in the conviction of one of two brothers accused of killing eight women, a man and a child.
The cast includes Renato Góes, Amanda Grimaldi, Guilherme Ferraz, Diego Francisco, Eduardo Tomaz, Juliana Schalch, Flávio Bauraqui, and Paulo Reis.
Koba Films has acquired all the rights to Macabre for Francophone Europe by FilmSharks International.
The "Necrophilic Brothers," Ibraim and Henrique de Oliveira, terrorized Nova Fribourg in the mid-1990s. The two were responsible for at least eight horrific murders: after killing victims barbarically (usually with axes, sticks or knives) they sexually abused their corpses.
