The story of Grace of God is set in the early 1970s in the American South and centers on an isolated community known as the “Children of Light,” a religious sect that has retreated into the woods under the leadership of Reverend Jedediah Hale, seeking purity through devotion and separation from the outside world.
Within this tightly controlled environment grows Grace, a 13-year-old girl whose sense of reality begins to unravel as she starts questioning the beliefs she has been raised with. In a world where faith governs every aspect of life, the first cracks in what seems like a perfect system slowly give way to something far more unsettling.
