Roberto Leggio and Gabriele Grotto reach the locations where the 1970s film was shot to find out whether Buono Legnani, the mad painter in Pupi Avati's film, is a fictitious character or not and whether his memory still cloaks those places in mystery.
“Gotico padano" is a documentary but also a film. A metacinematographic hybrid, a crossover of ideas that starts as a documentary and ends as a horror film. It is a totally original work in the panorama of Italian cinema, hoping to be able to boast something unique in the future."

The docufilm will be released in selected theaters on a tour that, starting in Rome, will touch various cities in northern Italy. The film was awarded Best Documentary at the Ciak film Festival 2023, also receiving the Direzione Nuovo Cinema Italiano Award for originality at the Ostia Film Festival Italiano 2023.
