gore-olsen"Gore Orphanage" legend has it that in the 1800s, the Swift Mansion orphanage located in Vermilion, Ohio, was destroyed by a fire that caused the deaths of many of the children inside. To this day, it is rumored that the souls of the little victims haunt the old structure and their screams and cries can still be heard.

Emily Lapisardi was inspired by this legend to develop the story of her first film, which takes its title from the legend Gore Orphanage and is scheduled for release by 2015. The film is co-written by the director herself along with Cody Knotts who also handled the production.

Ohio, 1934. Nellie (Emma Smith) is a young girl who is taken to the orphanage following the death of her parents. Here she befriends Esther (Nora Hoyle) and Buddy (Brandon Mangin Jr.) and, like everyone else, has to put up with Mrs. Pryor (Maria Olsen pictured above left), the evil principal who terrorizes and mistreats the children by taking out her frustration on them.

The film will star prolific actress Maria Olsen (Reunion, Starry Eyes, Another, Agoraphobia), Bill Towsend, Emma Smith, Nora Hoyle, Kerri Maletto, Nick LaMantia, Ryan Nogy, Brandon Mangin Jr. and Jeremy Kaluza. Nicholas Carrington, on the other hand, will handle the photography.
