Goodnight Mommy (aka Ich See, Ich See), the Austrian film co-written and co-directed by Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz in 2014, will have a remake. Goodnight Mommy (review here) is a disturbing drama with thriller veins in which the horror component is exclusively psychological.
Produced by Animal Kingdom and Playtime, the remake will be directed by Matt Sobel, a writer who made his directorial debut with the dramatic Take Me to the River (2015).
The script, on the other hand, will be handled by Kyle Warren, while producing the film (which will start shooting in the fall of 2019) will be David Kaplan (It Follows) for the Animal Kingdom company along with Nicolas Brigaud-Robert and Valery Guibal of Playtime.
The story of Goodnight Mommy vede protagonisiti i gemelli Elias e Lukas, due ragazzini che aspettano il rientro della madre che è stata sottoposta ad un'operazione chirurgica al volto. Quando la donna fa ritorno a casa, i suoi figli dubitano della sua dell'identità . Insieme cercheranno di capire chi sia l'intrusa che si nasconde sotto quelle bende e che abita con loro.
