Good Tidings (UK - 2016), the villainous Christmas slasher/horror about three psychopaths disguised as Santa Claus, is currently available for VOD but will soon enjoy a Home Video release. In fact, the film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray (region free) in December, thanks to a lucky crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.
Written, directed and produced by Stuart W. Bedford (Hybrid, An Easter's Tale), Good Tidings (review here) racked up awards at a variety of festivals including "Best Feature Film" and "Best Villain" at The Optical Theatre Festival 2016.
Plot: Sam Baker (Alan Mulhall) is a war veteran who lives with his friends in a homeless shelter. Here, on Christmas Day itself, three psychopaths (Curly, Moe and Larry) disguised as Santa Claus will sneak into the facility, destroying the festive air and mercilessly killing everyone living inside.
Co-writers and co-producers of Good Tidings are John Gentile and Stu Jopia, also actors here. The two play Larry and Curly, respectively, two members of the trio made up of naughty Santas, whose third subject is Moe (Liam W. Ashcroft). Completing the cast are Alan Mulhall, Johnny Hirst, Colin Murtagh, Emma Hind, Marcella Hazell, Garry McMahon and Julia Walsh.
The music is by Liam W. Ashcroft while the photography is by Shane de Almeida.
