For those who love the legendary evil creatures found in folklore such as goblins and even figures from Norse mythology such as trolls, we point out a horror/fantasy title from Finland: Backwood Madness. There is already a promo trailer of the film accompanied by some stills depicting monstrous characters belonging to popular culture who will come into conflict against man during World War II.
To direct Backwood Madness (Finland - 2017) is effects artist, actor, and director Ari Savonen (here in his first feature film) on a screenplay he co-wrote with Janne-Markus Katila and Jari Manninen. Filming of the film took place in Central Finland.
Plot: The war between men has also had repercussions on the beings that inhabit the forest. Now that the balance has been broken forever, trolls and goblins will go on the attack blinded by revenge.
The cast includes: Veera W. Vilo, Enni Ojutkangas, Jari Manninen, Gareth Lawrence, Roope Olenius, Sakari Karlepyy, Niina Ylipahkala, Niko Udd, Janne-Markus Katila, Sami Huhtala, Anette Aghazarian, and Saara Elina.
