According to Deadline's revelation, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, the screenwriters of Ant-Man and the Wasp (the sequel to Ant-Man), they will be working on the script of Gnomes for Sony Pictures.
The film will be the cinematic extension of Gnomes (Netherlands - 2022), the Dutch horror short film about killer gnomes that won the categories Best Splatter/Gore and Best Special Effects of DarkVeins Horror Fest 2022 (here is our review).
Directed by Ruwan Heggelman (Beste Vrienden, Mime), the short film Gnomes features among its screenwriters Richard Raaphorst (the director of the sci-fi horror Frankenstein's Army), who produced the film while also taking care of its special effects in collaboration with Jesse Tamerius and Stephan Vos.
The feature film project is currently in development and will feature Ruwan Heggelman himself in the director's booth. Instead, Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and Dan Levine of 21 Laps in collaboration with Richard Raaphorst appear in the production of the film.
Plot details have not yet been revealed.
