zombies-dvd-midnight-factoryAfter its presentation at the 2016 Venice Film Festival in the official selection "Venezia Classici" in the presence of directors Nicolas Winding Refn and Dario Argento, the restored version of Dawn of the Dead arriva in Home Video grazie a Midnight Factory. La label infatti propone la versione europea del capolavoro romeriano in un'imperdibile edizione restaurata con il montaggio di Dario Argento, le musiche originali dei Goblin e tantissimi contenuti extra. Suddetta versione è disponibile da oggi November 24 in DVD, Blu-ray and remastered 4K ultra HD formats. Each limited edition contains the same extremely rich selection of extras lasting a total of 150 minutes and 5 collectible postcards, made by fans and selected by Refn himself.

Considered a cult film by horror film lovers, Dawn of the Dead dates back to 1978 and is the second installment in the Romerian quadrilogy about the living dead. In fact, the film is preceded by Night of the Living Dead of 1968 and is followed by Day of the Dead (1985) e Land of the Dead (2005). Instead, they constitute a separate saga Diary of the Dead (2007) and Survival of the Dead (2009), also directed by George A. Romero.

The DVD edition of Dawn of the Dead contains 2 discs, one with the 118-minute restored European version edited by Dario Argento and the other containing over two and a half hours of extra content.
Di seguito le foto dell'edizione limited edition del DVD:

The Blu-ray edition has four discs, containing respectively the 118-minute restored European version edited by Dario Argento, the 127-minute version wanted by Romero and screened in 1979 in America, the 133-minute version presented at the Cannes Film Festival premiere in 1978, and finally a fourth disc containing over two and a half hours of special content.

On the other hand, the 4K remastered edition includes no less than 6 discs that contain: the European version in 4K ultra HD of 118 minutes with the original editing by Dario Argento; the same version also in Blu-ray; the Blu-ray of the 127-minute theatrical version wanted by Romero and screened in 1979 in America; the Blu-ray of the 133-minute extended version presented at the premiere of the 1978 Cannes Film Festival; a disc for special contents lasting 150 minutes ; a sixth Blu-ray with the innovative Fullframe version lasting 118 minutes and with the original editing by Dario Argento. Thanks to this last disc with absolutely unreleased content, the viewer will be able to enjoy a "full-screen" view of the film, without frame cuts and catching all the director's camera movements.
