Decal has acquired the distribution rights to Gaia (2021), l'horror sudafricano che questo mese sarà presentato in anteprima mondiale al SXSW di Austin, Texas. Secondo quanto riportato da Deadline, Gaia debutterà nelle sale USA quest'estate.
Written by Tertius Kapp and directed by Jaco Bouwer, Gaia is a horror film that sheds light on a malevolent creature living in the forest, a being older than humanity itself.
Plot: During a surveillance mission in a primeval forest, a park ranger encounters two men, father and son, who live in the wild, a condition, perhaps, that has led them to have a mysterious and strange relationship with nature.
When the chalet is attacked one night by strange, semi-human creatures, the ranger will discover that the place is ruled by a malevolent deity but not only that. The woman will eventually stumble upon a murky secret that could change the world.
