Attraverso un comunicato stampa, Warner Bros. Pictures ha annunciato l'inizio delle riprese e la trama di Furious, the prequel/spin-off of Mad Max: Fury Road, a post-apocalyptic film directed by George Miller in 2015.
The release date of Furious has been set for May 24, 2024.
Directed by George Miller and starring Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch, Marrowbone, Glass), Furious tells the origin story of the character played by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road. The cast also includes Chris Hemsworth (Thor, That House in the Woods), Angus Sampson (Insidious), Nathan Jones (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Tom Burke (Only God Forgives).
The screenplay for the film is by George Miller himself along with Nico Lathouris, the co-writer of Mad Max: Fury Road.
Official synopsis of Furious: mentre il mondo è sull'orlo del declino, la giovane Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy) viene rapita dal Luogo Verde delle Molte Madri per poi finire nelle mani di un’orda di motociclisti guidati da Dementus, il signore della guerra. Mad Max: Fury Road is a critically acclaimed film, nominated for 10 Academy Awards and winner of 6 and has grossed nearly $400 million worldwide. This is the fourth installment in the post-apocalyptic series conceived by George Miller himself and started in 1979 with Interceptor. Mel Gibson played the main character in the first three chapters viz. Interceptor, Interceptor - The Road Warrior (1981) and Mad Max beyond the ball of thunder (1985).
