Following The Bride (aka Nevesta), Russian director Svyatoslav Podgayevskiy directs. Mermaid: The Lake of the Dead (aka Rusalka: Ozero myortvykh, Русалка: Озеро мёртвых), a supernatural horror film about a ruthless mermaid. An engaging and disturbing trailer has already been released of the film, capturing the cruel mythological figure.
A diabolical mermaid falls in love with Roman, Marina's boyfriend. The creature will try to have him all to herself by dragging him into her waterlogged realm of death. The pale half-woman, half-fish seductress was none other than a young woman who drowned two hundred years earlier in a lake.
Marina has only one week to face her fear of water and confront the terrible mythological monster.
The screenplay of Mermaid: The Lake of the Dead was written by Natalya Dubovaya, Ivan Kapitonov and Svyatoslav Podgaevskiy.
In the cast: Viktoriya Agalakova (The Bride), Igor Khripunov, Efim Petrunin, Nikita Elenev, and Sesil Plezhe.
The film will be released in Russia on July 12, 2018.
