At the Devil's Door (aka Home) is the new horror film by Nicholas McCarthy, the director of The Pact. As with the 2012 film, Nicholas McCarthy also handled the screenplay for this new project, which belongs to the exorcism strand, a subgenre that has been very much in vogue in recent years.
At the bottom of the article, the first circulating trailer of At the Devil's Door shows the slow transformation and course of action of a girl possessed by evil. From hanging, to the act of forcibly digging the earth with her hands, to the delightful mirror scene in which she bends her head to one side causing her neck to break. At the end of the video also a monstrous creature can be seen.
At the Devil's Door had its international premiere on March 9 this year at the South by Southwest Festival. The film will be available for the video-on-demand market on August 8, while it will be released on a limited basis in a few U.S. theaters on September 12, 2014.
The cast includes Catalina Sandino Moreno, Ashley Rickards, Ava Acres, Arshad Aslam, Rob Brownstein, and Naya Rivera.
The film centers on Leigh (Catalina Sandino Moreno), a real estate agent interested in selling a house whose owners seem to be in a hurry to get rid of it. Upon reaching the home, she finds her clients' daughter inside in a state of confusion. The girl has not gotten over the death of her boyfriend a couple of months earlier, but her state of shock stems from more than just the terrible loss, and Leigh soon realizes this.
