Lynn Lowry, l'iconica attrice statunitense nota per i suoi ruoli in perle cinematografiche come The Crazies (directed by George A. Romero) and Shivers (directed by David Cronenberg), has been in Italy for a few days.
Her presence in our country and, specifically, in Naples, is due to the shooting of a film directed by Domiziano Cristopharo (House of Flesh Mannequins, Doll Syndrome) on a screenplay by Andrea Cavaletto (Hidden in the Woods). This is for her, the first film in Italy.

In fact, in addition to Lynn Lowry, the actors include Roberto Scorza of American Guinea Pig: Sacrifice, Francesco Giannotti (former actor for George Nevada in Jack the Stripper), Chiara Pavoni (undisputed scream queen of indie cinema for over 20 years and recently involved in the films Xpiation and P.O.E. 4 - The Black Cat), new horror icon Elisa Carrera Fumagalli, already seen in Phobia (movie review) nel segmento di Davide Pesca e anche nell'horror corale Deep Web. They are also joined by Frank Laloggia, the director of the cult Scarlatti - Lady in White (1988).
This new title will see the light of day thanks to the co-production of Stefano Bastiani, Francesco Giannotti and Domiziano Cristopharo. Photography will be by Daniele Trani while music by Antony Coia. Both have already worked with Cristopharo on the recent Virus - Extreme Contamination.
Especially beloved by fans of the horror genre for her starring role (Nurse Forsythe) in Shivers di David Cronenberg, Lynn Lowry ha avuto in realtà una carriera che è stata un'indiscussa scalata verso il successo. Questa l'ha portata dalla Troma ad Hollywood ovvero da The Battle of Love's Return directed by Lloyd Kaufman to the remake of Cat People di Paul Schrader, all'epoca già braccio destro di Scorsese e De Palma nonché autore dell'American Gigolo with Richard Gere.
Lynn Lowry's career, however, is extinguished by the very The Panther's Kiss in 1982 when, tired of the Hollywood machinery and after a few TV series and TV shows, she decided to retire from filmmaking to devote herself to theater and music.
The revival of the horror genre in the new millennium, however, has finally brought back the former scream queen's incredible acting skills, once again in such thick productions as La città verrà distrutta all'alba - remake (2010) di Breck Eisner. Attualmente Lynn Lowry è una delle attrici più prolifiche del cinema horror indipendente.
