Firestarter: Italian trailer and release of new adaptation of The Incendiary

Universal has shared the official trailers and poster for Firestarter, the horror film written by Scott Teems (Halloween Kills) and featuring Keith Thomas (The Vigil) as director.
Produced by Universal, Weed Road Pictures and Blumhouse, Firestarter will debut in U.S. theaters on May 13, 2022 while it will arrive in Italian theaters soon with Universal.

The film is the new adaptation of The incendiary (Firestarter), a science fiction horror novel written by Stephen King in 1980 and from which Mark M. Lester was inspired for his Uncontrollable paranormal phenomena (1984).

In the new Firestarter, Ryan Kiera Armstrong (It - Chapter Two) is Charlie, a role that, in the 1984 film was given to Drew Barrymore. Alongside the young actress are Zac Efron (Ted Bundy - Criminal Charm), Sydney Lemmon, Gloria Reuben, Michael Greyeyes (Fear The Walking Dead, Blood Quantum), Kurtwood Smith (Amityville: The Awakening) and John Beasley (Anarchy: Judgment Night).
Martha De Laurentiis, already involved in the first 1984 adaptation, appears on the crew as executive producer. The soundtrack, on the other hand, is by the legendary John Carpenter (The Fog, The Thing) in collaboration with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies (Halloween).

Plot: because of her pyrokinetic abilities, little Charlie is kidnapped by a secret government agency that wants to exploit her powerful gift as a weapon... But the little girl will not be easy to handle.
