In February, two films in the horror genre are being screened in Italian theaters. From the 1st of the month in fact, it will make its debut in theaters. Slumber - Il demone del sonno, a horror film about hypnagogic paralysis.
Il 22 febbraio invece arriverà in sala l'atteso Widow Winchester, the supernatural horror film about the "Winchester House" (built in 1884 in San Jose, Calif.), the most haunted house in the world.
Directed by newcomer Jonathan Hopkins, Slumber - The Sleep Demon (UK -2017) deals with the terrible phenomenon of sleep paralysis. The film will be released in theaters on Feb. 1 with Midnight Factory.
The protagonist of the story is Alice Arnolds, a doctor who specializes in the treatment of sleep problems and has always been haunted by the mysterious nighttime death of her younger brother. The woman will try to protect an entire family from a demon that attacks its victims during nightmares. In particular, one of the children will be diagnosed with sleep paralysis.
The screenplay of Slumber - The Sleep Demon Is by Jonathan Hopkins and Richard Hobley.

Widow Winchester (aka Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built) will arrive in Italian theaters on Feb. 22 distributed at Eagle Pictures. The film is written and directed by brothers Michael and Peter Spierig (Undead, Daybreakers - The Last Vampire, Predestination).
Plot: widow Sarah (Helen Mirren), the heiress of the well-known arms factory, is convinced that she is haunted by the souls of all those who lost their lives to the weapons her family built. On the advice of a medium, the woman has a mansion built for the purpose of trapping hundreds of evil spirits in it. Psychiatrist Eric Price (Jason Clarke) will get to see that the old woman is not as crazy as one might think.
In the cast of Widow Winchester (USA, Australia - 2018) we find: Helen Mirren, Jason Clarke (Apes Revolution - Planet of the Apes), Sarah Snook, Angus Sampson, Laura Brent, Jeffrey W. Jenkins, Tyler Coppin, Dawayne Jordan, Thor Carlsson and Xavier Gouault.
