Lionsgate and Millennium Films have released a new international poster for Leatherface (USA - 2017) and over which Leatherface armed with a chainsaw towers. Directed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo (Inside, Livide), Leatherface made its world premiere in Italian cinemas on September 14 (riscontrando, tra l'altro, un gran successo) con M2 Pictures. La release USA (cinema e VOD) invece è fissata al 20 ottobre 2017.
Leatherface sheds light on the origins of Leatherface, the iconic character in the famous franchise The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. In fact, the events of this prequel precede those of the first chapter viz. Don't open that door by Tobe Hooper.
Texas. The daughter of Sheriff Hal Hartman (Stephen Dorff) dies in an accident that, however, does not convince the police. The Sawyers' minor son is accused of her death and, for that, locked up in a mental hospital. Ten years later, now grown up, the young man escapes from the asylum with three other patients after kidnapping a nurse (Vanessa Grasse). Pursued by the authorities and the sheriff, the former inmate will, over time, turn into a dangerous and disturbing killer.
In the cast of Leatherface there are: Stephen Dorff (Blade), Sam Coleman, Lili Taylor (The Addiction - Vampires in New York, The Conjuring), Sam Strike, Jessica Madsen, James Bloor, Vanessa Grasse, Nicole Andrews and Julian Kostov.
The screenplay is by Seth M. Sherwood.
Millennium Films, Christa Campbell, Lati Grobman and Carl Mazzacone (Lionsgate) produced the film.
