Available, starting in April 2018, the ultralimited versions of Sweetness Extrema, the zero-budget sci-fi/comedy/horror genre film directed by Alberto Genovese. Thanks to Home Movies Sweetness Extrema (Italy - 2015) will enjoy DVD (400 copies) and Blu-ray (400 copies) formats and also the ultralimited edition of both DVD (only 100 pieces) and Blu-ray (only 100), both with slipcase and sock. Finally, the ultralimited DVD + Blu-ray combo edition is available.
Made in digital animation and starring rag dolls (created from recycled materials), Sweetness Extrema is an old-style sci-fi that crosses over into the comedy and horror genres. Produced and directed by Alberto Genovese for a screenplay edited by Massimo Vavassori (the screenwriter of The Perfect Husband and Alcoholic), this bizarre title features, as the only live actor, Eddy Endolf a.k.a. Marco Antonio Andolfi, performer and director of the cult horror trash The cross from the seven stones.
The soundtrack is by Antony Coia (Virus: Extreme Contamination). The music department also features pieces by Male Misandria, Malmignatta and The Piano Machine.
Plot: Captain Pixws and his ramshackle crew are traveling into space to fulfill a mission at the behest of King Grigorio (Eddy Endolf). The starship Cargo is to deliver a stock of tanning showers in honor of the martyr Efisio Masciago. The interstellar company of stoned former rockers will face the most important adventure of their lives.
The film was distributed in America through Kaufman & Herz's Troma label (link to news story) with the title "Sick Sock Monsters from Outer Space".
Sweetness Extrema was a selection of several festivals including "Best Film" at Fantafestival (2015), "Best Film" category "Weird & Wrong" at Broken Knuckle Film Festival (2015), "Best Film" at Sci-Fi London (2016) and "Best Trash Feature Film" at The Optical Theatre Festival 2016.
