Extinction (Spain, Hungary - 2015) is a zombie movie dealing with a new breed of the living dead whose decomposition process is arrested by the cold. Directing it is Miguel Ángel Vivas (Secuestrados) for a screenplay by the director himself together with Alberto Marini. The cast is almost all American and consists of Jeffrey Donovan, Matthew Fox (World War Z), Quinn McColgan, Clara Lago, Valeria Vereau, Eduardo Fedriani, Lili Bordán, and Daniel Bargueño.
Extinction is an adaptation of the novel Y Pese a Todo By Juan de Dios Garduño.
Abstract: Nine years have passed since the beginning of the epidemic that turned humans into rabid creatures. The snowy town of Harmony is inhabited by Patrick, Jack and little Lu, the only survivors. Their coexistence is made difficult by the animosity the two men feel for each other. However, the two will have to put aside their resentment and think about getting to safety when the freezing undead sense their presence.
The film is produced by Borja Pena and Emma Lustres for Vaca Films together with Jaume Collet-Serra (Orphan) and Juan Solá of the production company Ombra Films. It is scheduled for release by the end of the year.
