Evolution (France, Belgium, Spain - 2015), the drama-horror film written and directed by French director Lucile Hadzihalilovic, now has a striking poster (below right). The film will be released in the UK starting May 6 through IFC Midnight.
In Evolution the events of the protagonists take place on an island whose only inhabitants are women and children.
Plot: Nicolas (Max Brebant) is a ten-year-old boy who lives with his mother in a village on a remote island. Here, little ones like him are subjected to special medical treatments and the adults are exclusively female. Only Nicolas begins to question everything around him, including the attitudes of his mother, who he believes is hiding something from him. In particular, he would also like to understand why the woman, every night, reaches the beach with the others.
To the screenplay of Evolution (aka Évolution) Alante Kavaite and Geoff Cox also contributed.
The names of the actors are as follows: Max Brebant, Roxane Duran, Julie-Marie Parmentier, Pablo-Noé Etienne, Mathieu Goldfeld, Nissim Renard, and Nathalie Legosles.
