In a Twitter post, director Lee Cronin released a new image of the Evil Dead Rise, the fifth installment of the horror saga Evil Dead (Evil Dead).
Written and directed by Lee Cronin (The Hole in The Ground), Evil Dead Rise will debut in US theaters on April 21, 2023.
Sam Raimi, the creator of the franchise, appears in the project as a producer, along with longtime partner Robert Tapert and his friend Bruce Campbell, the actor who played Ash Williams in the saga Evil Dead and who will not be in the cast of this new chapter.
Plot of Evil Dead Rise: Beth visits her older sister Ellie, who is raising three children alone in a small apartment in Los Angeles. This sisterly reunion is interrupted by the discovery of a mysterious book in the bowels of the building in which Ellie lives. It is the Necronomicon, a dangerous text containing rituals to summon demons and which will force Beth to fight a battle for survival.
The cast includes Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Mia Challis, and Nell Fisher.
