More than two years have passed since the first news on Draug, l'horror svedese sulla mitologia norrena che ha stuzzicato la nostra curiosità. Dopo il official trailer rilasciato nel 2017, in questi giorni è stato annunciato che il film, attualmente in post-produzione, è finalmente in fase di completamento, pronto per fare il suo ingresso nei vari festival. Lo scorso luglio intanto, è stato rilasciato "Stigman" dei Vampire Bytes, uno dei brani che fanno parte della colonna sonora.
Produced, written and directed by Karin Engman and Klas Persson (the creators of the zombies web series The Great Dying), Draug macchia di orrore l'epoca vichinga in cui si svolge la storia. Questo horror svedese infatti introduce il “Draug”, una creatura non morta e dalle doti magiche che, mossa dall’invidia e dall’avidità, cammina dopo la morte. Di notte, questa creatura del floklore nordico abbandona la sua tomba per far visita ai vivi: li rende folli per poi nutrirsi del loro sangue e della loro carne.
Plot of Draug: Sweden, 11th century. A missionary has gone missing in the sinister forest of Ödmården, and the king sends a rescue party to search for him. Among the soldiers is Nanna (Elna Karlsson), a young woman on her first mission who, orphaned at an early age, was raised by the ruler's guard. Once she enters the dense forest with the other warriors, she will discover that the place is actually the home of dark presences.
The cast includes Elna Karlsson, Thomas Hedengran, Lina Hedlund, Oscar Skagerberg, Urban Bergsten, Nina Filimoshkina, Ralf Beck, and Matti Boustedt.
