LEGENDARY FIGURE - Last week, the 20th Century Fox seemed really determined to write Joaquin Phoenix for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, a film adaptation of the parody novel of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith, but a few days later the big picture of the situation has changed. For the curious and difficult role of "ageless legendary figure, expert vampire slayer and mentor to Lincoln," the production company has just cast Dominic Cooper, an actor fresh off the production of Captain America - The First Avenger and recently passed onto our big screens in Tamara Drewe: English Betrayals..

ABE'S BEST FRIEND - 20th Century Fox has also started negotiations with the actor Anthony Mackie to entrust him, always in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, the part of Will, Lincoln's best friend. The last works to which Mackie took part are the currently in post-production Man On A Ledge and Real Steel.
If the film will faithfully follow the events narrated in the novel, in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter we will see a never-before-seen version of Abraham Lincoln who, in parallel with his presidential duties, will devote himself to hunting down his worst enemies and the architects of his mother's death: vampires.
Directed by Timur Bekmambetov, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will debut in theaters on June 22, 2012.
