The official poster for Dolly, the horror film shot on Super 16mm and due for release in US theaters on March 6, is now online.
Inspired by Texas Chain Saw Massacre and New French Extremity, Dolly is directed by Rod Blackhurst (Amanda Knox, Night Swim) from a screenplay he co-wrote with Brandon Weavil, based on their 2022 short film Babygirl.
In Dolly, “a young woman, Macy, fights for survival after being abducted by a deranged, monster-like figure who wants to raise Macy as their child.
Fabianne Therese (John Dies at the End), Seann William Scott (American Pie), Ethan Suplee (Mallrats) and the american professional wrestler Max the Impaler star.
"Dolly is an elegant and twisted fairy tale born from a deep love for raw genre films and from the desire to see something crazy that the thirteen-year-old I once was would have eagerly wanted to rent (somehow) from the local video store (which was also a jewelry shop and appliance repair store) in rural New York State,” Rod Blackhurst previously revealed.
