Warner Bros. Italy has released the Italian teaser trailer for Doctor Sleep, l'adattamento cinematografico dell'omonimo romanzo scritto da Stephen King nel 2013 e che a sua volta è il seguito di un'altra celebre opera letteraria dello scrittore ovvero Shining (1977).
Doctor Sleep harkens back to the story of Danny Torrance (played here by Ewan McGregor), 40 years after his terrifying stay at the Overlook Hotel in Shining.
Diretto da Mike Flanagan (Oculus - Il riflesso del male, Somnia), questo thriller soprannaturale arriverà nelle sale italiane con Warner Bros. Italia il 31 ottobre mentre in quelle USA l'8 novembre 2019.
During a Q&A with the press occurred on the occasion of the trailer release, Mike Flanagan himself was keen to point out that his film is both an adaptation of Stephen King's work of the same name i.e. Doctor Sleep, than a sequel to Shining (film based on Stephen King's novel of the same name) directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Jack Nicholson in 1980.
Plot: Dan Torrance (Ewan McGregor) is a 40-year-old man scarred by the trauma he experienced as a child at the Overlook Hotel, following which he no longer used his psychic powers.
Un giorno incontra Abra (Kyliegh Curran), un’adolescente con i suoi stessi poteri, chiamati “luccicanza”. La ragazzina chiede disperatamente il suo aiuto contro la spietata Rose (Rebecca Ferguson) e i suoi seguaci del "Vero Nodo" che si nutrono della "luccicanza" degli innocenti alla ricerca dell'immortalità. L'alleanza tra i due costringerà Dan a ricorrere ancora ai suoi poteri psichici e a fare i conti con i fantasmi del passato.
