Warner Bros. has released a featurette dedicated to Danny Torrance, a character played by Danny Lloyd in Shining and by Roger Dale Floyd in the supernatural thriller Doctor Sleep.
Directed by Mike Flanagan (Oculus - The Reflection of Evil, Somnia), Doctor Sleep is the film adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Stephen King in 2013, which in turn is a sequel to another famous literary work by the writer namely Shining (1977).
Starring Ewan McGregor, the film will arrive in the Italian halls with Warner Bros. Italy on Oct. 31.
Doctor Sleep sheds light on Danny Torrance's story 40 years after his terrifying stay at the Overlook Hotel in Shining. The film is both an adaptation of Stephen King's work of the same name viz. Doctor Sleep, that the direct sequel to Shining (directed by Stanley Kubrick).
Plot: Dan Torrance (Ewan McGregor) is a 40-year-old man scarred by the trauma he experienced as a child at the Overlook Hotel, following which he no longer used his psychic powers.
One day she meets Abra (Kyliegh Curran), a teenager with her own powers, called "shimmering." The young girl desperately seeks his help against the ruthless Rose (Rebecca Ferguson) and her followers of the "True Knot" who, in their quest for immortality, feed on the "shimmering" of the innocent. The alliance between the two will force Dan to resort once again to his psychic powers, thus coming to terms with the ghosts of the past.
