Trama: febbraio 1959. Nove escursionisti russi si avventurano in una zona remota dei monti Urali per poi trovare la morte per cause rimaste attualmente sconosciute. Questo caso, noto in seguito come l'incidente del "passo di Dyatlov" ha portato alcuni investigatori a credere che le morti siano state causate da incontri alieni e cospirazioni governative. Nel 2012, un gruppo di studenti decide di indagare sul caso. I giovani decidono così di ripercorrere il tragitto dei nove escursionisti andando incontro a fenomeni terrificanti.
