A year after the premiere, the official trailer of Der Samurai (Germany - 2014) on Blu-ray and DVD release set for June 9 (Artsploitation).
Der Samurai is a horror film written and directed by German director Till Kleinert (Lange Nacht, Cowboy) who has directed several short films in the past, including non-genre ones. The film's uniqueness certainly lies in the disturbing and bizarre character on which the story is laced: a blond samurai wearing a white nightgown and wielding a katana.
Jakob (Michel Diercks) is a somewhat lame and very insecure policeman who one night encounters a very troubling fellow dressed as a woman and armed with a katana. From that moment on, for Jakob that samurai (Pit Bukowski) becomes an obsession. He thus sets himself the goal of arresting him not so much because he is in possession of a white weapon but to discover the secret behind his strange warrior figure.
In addition to Michel Diercks and Pit Bukowski, the cast also includes Uwe Preuss, Kaja Blachnik, Christopher Kane and Ulrike Bliefert.
