It is entitled Deliriumpsike the new film directed by Luigi Pastore, an Italian director who has behind him such titles as Ubaldo Terzani Making Of, Like a chrysalis and Violent Shit: The Movie.
The thriller Deliriumpsike marks the return, in cinema, of the celebrated actor Alvaro Vitali, here in an entirely new and novel adventure for him.
In the past, Alvaro Vitali starred in three films by Federico Fellini, including the Oscar-winning film Amarcord. L'attore è divenuto famoso soprattutto come volto comico della commedia sexy molto in voga in Italia negli anni '70 e '80.
With an acting career that boasts more than eighty appearances between the big and small screen, Roman Alvaro Vitali is therefore returning to the set but this time for a role in a thriller genre film.
The filming of Deliriumpsike are planned to be released during 2018, and for now the plot has not yet been revealed. For this new project of his, Luigi Pastore was inspired by real events. The director states, "Il titolo del film mi accompagna ormai da diversi anni e, alla fine, è ritornato con prepotenza nei miei pensieri. A differenza dei miei precedenti lavori, in questo film non punterò sulla violenza estrema, sul sangue e sull’eros, ma voglio far provare una sensazione di disagio allo spettatore già dall'inizio, portandolo gradualmente in una spirale di follia. Ho pensato ad Alvaro Vitali mentre scrivevo la sceneggiatura e, nello sviluppo del suo personaggio, non ho avuto dubbi sul volto di questo grande interprete, che ha dato tanto al cinema italiano e che ha ancora molto da esprimere. È davvero un peccato che i nostri produttori abbiano etichettato e dimenticato questi grandi artisti, puntando su fenomeni di marketing che non sanno nemmeno cosa significhi la parola ‘gavetta’. Il mio è uno schiaffo morale ad un cinema ormai standardizzato, troppo politicamente corretto e infarcito di banalità e buonismo da bravi scolaretti. Non c’è più il coraggio di rischiare, privilegiando solo prodotti dozzinali, senza dare al pubblico la possibilità di scegliere veramente".
Alvaro Vitali, on the other hand, observes, "I have always done comedy and funny movies that have given me notoriety. I have to say, it sounds silly but making people laugh is much more difficult than playing a dramatic or scary movie. Therefore, now, I want to enter this world in order to see what is different between the two types of films. I want to touch upon".
