Raven Banner Releasing has announced the release plans for Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon, the sequel to Jason Lei Howden's 2015 cult horror/metal movie Deathgasm. The film will screen for one night only on September 29 at select Alamo Drafthouse theaters across the United States as part of the “Fantastic Fest Presents” program.
Starting October 13, Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon will be available to rent or purchase digitally in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom across all major platforms. A physical release on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD will follow later that month, in both Standard Edition and Limited Edition Steelbook formats.
The exact release date for the physical editions will be announced soon.
Written and directed by Jason Lei Howden (Deathgasm, Guns Akimbo), Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon is produced by Nick Garrett, Antonio Hrynchuk, and Andrew Thomas Hunt. The film had its world premiere in competition at Fantastic Fest in 2025.
The story takes place several years after the events of the first film. After stopping a demonic apocalypse, Brodie is unemployed, single, and has no direction in life. When he learns that “NoizeQuest,” a battle-of-the-bands competition, is coming to his town, he decides to reform DEATHGASM in the hope of redeeming himself and winning back his ex-girlfriend Medina. The problem is that drummer Giles has lost an arm, while the other members of the band are dead. However, Brodie still has the pages of the Black Hymn, which allow him to bring his bandmates back from beyond the grave.
Writer-director Jason Lei Howden added: “We made this film for the misfits, the freaks, the outcasts, the headbangers, and the gorehounds. In a world divided, heavy metal and horror fans are an international family united by our passion for extreme entertainment. Deathgasm 2 is one big, brutal “HORNS UP” to that family. I’m stoked Raven Banner is getting it out there for the world to enjoy”.
Milo Cawthorne returns as Brodie and Kimberley Crossman as Medina, alongside returning cast members James Blake, Sam Berkley, and Daniel Cresswell. New additions to the cast include Kieran Charnock, Harrison Keefe, Maggie Robertson, and WWE star Adam Scherr, better known as Braun Strowman.
The original score was composed by Trivium frontman Matt Heafy, while the soundtrack features metal bands including Skinless, Havok, Chestcrush, Bulletbelt, Anvil, GWAR, and many others.
