Eyes on Dead Still, the horror film devoted to postmortem photography and directed by the Booth brothers whose filmography boasts other genre titles such as Death Tunnel, The Exorcist File, The Ghosts of Waverly Hills Sanatorium, Children of the Grave...
The film will be broadcast on the U.S. television channel SyFy on October 6 for the 31 Days of Halloween program.
Available since a couple of days the first trailer of Dead Still (USA - 2014) through which one can get an insight into the macabre film by Philip Adrian and Christopher Booth. The former was in charge of direction and screenplay, while the latter was in charge of production and soundtrack.
In the video, in addition to the object of evil represented by an old camera, there are also fascinating and sinister shadowy figures that well resemble the real subjects immortalized by the grim Victorian-era photography.
Also unveiled is the cast. Joining Ben Browder (Farscape, Stargate SG1), Ray Wise (Twin Peaks, Jeepers Creepers) and Gavin Casalegno (Noah, When the Game Stands Tall) will be Elle LaMont (Dusk to Dawn, Machete Kills), Steffie Grote, Toby Nichols, Carrie Lazar and Corey Mendell Parker. Rachel Marie Booth, Christopher's wife, who plays Doll Face, also appears among the actors.
The protagonist of the story is Brandon Davis (Ben Browder), a wedding photographer who is bequeathed a camera by his great-grandfather that was used in the past to take postmortem photographs. Unfortunately, all those whom Brandon photographs die under mysterious circumstances and, strangely, are portrayed lifeless in the photos. A trail of death haunts the photographer from the moment he inherits the ancient object trapping him in a powerful curse.
