Dead of Summer is the title of Freeform's new horror TV series. Conceived by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, the same people from Once upon a time, the new television series is set in the 1980s. The two also signed the script and will also serve as executive producers along with Ian B. Goldberg. The premiere of Dead of Summer will air on Tuesday, June 28, on the U.S. television network Freeform.
Plot: Camp Clearwater is an idyllic Midwestern campground that promises vacationers an unforgettable summer of fun in all its forms. Unfortunately, however, something dark and ancient awakens, turning the vacationers' summer into a terrible nightmare.
Charles Mesure and Elizabeth Mitchell, two of the main characters in the U.S. television series V, have joined the cast of Dead Summer. The former will play the local sheriff, a peaceful man who cares deeply about the quiet of his community. Mitchell, on the other hand, will be Deb, the new owner of the campground who will see things get out of hand. In addition to the two actors, Zachary Gordon has also been confirmed for the role of Jason "Blotter" Cohen, a former camper who returns to Camp Clearwater as a counselor.
