Dead of Summer is the title of Freeform's new horror TV series. Conceived by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, the same people from C'era una volta, la nuova serie televisiva è ambientata negli anni '80. I due hanno firmato anche la sceneggiatura e ne saranno anche i produttori esecutivi insieme a Ian B. Goldberg. La premiere di Dead of Summer will air on Tuesday, June 28, on the U.S. television network Freeform.
Trama: Camp Clearwater è un campeggio idilliaco del Midwest che promette ai vacanzieri un'estate indimenticabile, all'insegna del divertimento in tutte le sue forme. Purtroppo però qualcosa di oscuro e di antico si risveglia trasformando l'estate dei vacanzieri in un terribile incubo.
Charles Mesure and Elizabeth Mitchell, two of the main characters in the U.S. television series V, have joined the cast of Dead Summer. Il primo interpreterà lo sceriffo locale, un uomo pacifico che tiene molto alla quiete della sua comunità . La Mitchell invece sarà Deb, la nuova proprietaria del campeggio che si vedrà sfuggire la situazione di mano. Oltre ai due attori è stato confermato anche Zachary Gordon per il ruolo di Jason "Blotter" Cohen, un ex campeggiatore che ritorna al Camp Clearwater in veste di consigliere.
