Il film horror sulla paralisi ipnagogica è diretto da Phillip Guzman (200 Hours) on a script penned by Jeffrey Reddick, the creator of the franchise's Final Destination.
Putting on the face of the protagonist is Jocelin Donahue, the star of The House of the Devil (2009). 
L'attrice interpreta una giovane donna impegnata ad investigare su una serie di strani eventi in cui le vittime sono morte nel sonno. Proseguendo nelle ricerche e avvicinandosi sempre più alla verità , la ragazza finirà per dover difendere la propria vita e quella dei suoi amici da un antico male che causa la paralisi nel sonno per seminare dolore e morte.
In addition to Jocelin Donahue, the cast also includes Lori Petty (Masters of Horror), Brea Grant (Worry Dolls), Jesse Bradford, Jesse Borrego, James Eckhouse, Liz Mikel, Mona Lee Fultz, Billy Blair, Jeffrey Reddick, Chelsea Morgensen, and Derek Lee Nixon.
Dead Awake will be presented soon at the Shriekfest Film Festival in Los Angeles on Oct. 8.
