Addio a David Warner (1941 - 2022), pilastro del cinema britannico. La BBC ha riferito che l'attore è morto ieri, all'età di 80 anni, a causa di una malattia legata al cancro, notizia che è stata confermata anche dalla sua famiglia.
"Over the past 18 months, he faced his diagnosis with his trademark grace and dignity... He will be greatly missed by us, his family and friends, and will be remembered as a kind-hearted, generous and compassionate man, partner and father whose legacy of extraordinary work touched the lives of many over the years. We are heartbroken", hanno detto i familiari.
Nel corso della sua lunghissima carriera, Warner ha spaziato tra cinema, teatro, televisione e anche radio. Nel 1962 debutta a teatro, per poi lanciarsi, qualche anno dopo, nel mondo del cinema interpretando, tra gli altri, diversi personaggi perversi (Cane di paglia, L'uomo venuto dall'impossibile) e recitando in moltissimi film di genere horror.
In 1973 he is the client Edward Charlton in the first episode of the The store that sold death while in 1976 he played photographer Keith Jennings in the The Omen (The Omen) di Richard Donner. L'attore compare anche ne The wings of the night (1979) by Arthur Hiller.
Negli anni '80 recita negli horror In the company of wolves and Waxwork - Benvenuti al museo delle cere mentre negli anni '90 lo troviamo ne The seed of madness, Tastes of Terror, Scream 2 and
Body Bags - Corpi estranei. In quest'ultimo interpreta il Dr. Lock nell'episodio "Hair".
