Dall'11 aprile è disponibile, in versione rimasterizzata, il Blu-ray di Dark Waters (aka Temnye vody) distributed by Severin Films. This is a 1993 Lovecraftian horror film that has become a cult favorite among fans of the genre.
It is directed by Italian director Mariano Baino (making his debut here), on a script he co-wrote with Andy Bar.
The Blu-ray, with English mono audio, boasts a rich special content compartment but also three short films and a video clip (the latter already featured in the 2006 Special Edition Box-Set from the American label NoShame).
Dark Waters (Russia, Italia, Gran Bretagna - 1993) è ispirato al racconto "The Mask of Innsmouth" ("The Shadow Over Innsmouth") di H.P. Lovecraft e vede protagonista Elizabeth (Louise Salter), una ragazza che, dopo la morte del padre, raggiunge un monastero situato su un'isola per scoprire il motivo per cui il genitore faceva ingenti donazioni. Giunta sul posto, la giovane scoprirà che le suore praticano rituali satanici nelle catacombe della struttura.
The cast includes Louise Salter, Venera Simmons, Lubov Snegur, Mariya Kapnist, Albina Skarga, Valeriy Bassel, Pavel Sokolov, Anna Rose Phipps, Valeriy Kopaev, Ludmila Marufova, Tanya Dobrovolskaya, Kristina Spivak, and Nadezhda Trimasova.
The film is produced by Victor Zuev.
As a reminder, Mariano Baino recently directed the short film Lady M 5.1, a film adaptation of Lady Macbeth's monologue, starring Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni (Demons 2, Opera, The forest1, Ghost Son).
