The curse of The Crow reboot: yet another director announced

crowAfter three years spent working on the reboot of the The Raven, a few days ago it was announced that Spanish director F. Javier GutiƩrrez has abandoned the project. Like him, others in the past have also given up directing the film. The first was Stephen Norrington in 2010 followed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) in 2011.

Replacing GutiƩrrez this time will be Corin Hardy, who has made music videos in the past and is currently busy shooting his first horror film The Woods. The screenplay, on the other hand, will be by Cliff Dorfman. Cartoonist James O'Barr, author of the comic book The Crow (published between 1988-1989), which inspired the cult film of the same name directed in 2004 by Alex Proyas and starring Brandon Lee, will also appear in the project as a creative consultant.

A few years ago the role of Eric Draven was assigned to Bradley Cooper and then to Luke Evans (The Raven, No One Lives), a well-known Welsh actor recently seen in Dracula Untold. However, the latter also dropped out of the project a few hours ago.

The release date is not yet known although the start of production has been set for spring 2015.
