After the red band trailer, comes the official poster of Crimes of the Future (2022), the body horror starring Viggo Mortensen (A History of Violence, The Assassin's Promise), Léa Seydoux (Spectre, No Time to Die) and Kristen Stewart (Twilight, Underwater).
The film is written and directed by the celebrated David Cronenberg (Rabid, Brood, Scanners, The Fly) who returns to the directing booth eight years after his last work namely the drama Maps to the Stars (2014).
In Crimes of the Future, David Cronenberg continues to explore man's terror in the face of the mutation of the flesh, involving not only the physical but also the psychological aspect.
Plot: when the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. Together with his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), renowned performance artist Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen) publicly displays the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances.
Investigator Timlin (Kristen Stewart) will obsessively follow all of his performances, trying to use the artist's notoriety to shed light on the next stage of human evolution.
The cast also includes Scott Speedman (Underworld), Don McKellar, Welket Bungué, Tanaya Beatty, Lihi Kornowski, Nadia Litz, Yorgos Karamichos, and Yorgos Pirpassopoulos.
Crimes of the Future will have its world premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival held May 17-28 and then arrive in U.S. theaters in June.
