The horror short film Creatures of Whitechapel (USA, UK - 2016) is Official Selection at the DarkVeins Horror Fest 2017. Written and directed by Jonathan Martin, the film received the following nominations: "Best Short Film," "Best Cinematography," "Best Music," "Best Actor" (Barrett Ogden) and "Best Actress" (Carlee Baker).
Creatures of Whitechapel is, specifically, a gothic love story that incorporates some of the most important horror icons such as Jack the Ripper and Frankenstein. The film also gives space in the film to madness, experiments, and love, but also to the evil that snakes through the human soul.
Plot: Jack the Ripper (Carlee Baker) roams the streets of London looking for the perfect victim for Dr. Frankenstein, his master (Barrett Ogden). The murderess is tasked with finding the last piece for the scientist's mad experiment to be completed.
The script is by Jonathan Martin (An Evening with My Comatose Mother, Kiss the Devil in the Dark) while the screenplay by Creatures of Whitechapel Is signed by his sister, Rebecca Martin.
The cast includes Carlee Baker, Barrett Ogden, Victoria Halloran, Rick Macy, Jillian Joy, Reeve Boyd, Crystal Harris, Chelsea Jurkiewicz and Maisa Kehl.
