Universal Pictures has released, online, the official Italian trailer for Cocainorso (aka Cocaine Bear), il thriller sull'orso morto per overdose.
Produced by Jimmy Warden and directed by Elizabeth Banks (Charlie's Angels), Cocainorso will arrive in Italian cinemas on April 27, 2023.
The film is inspired by the true story of a brown bear who ingested a lethal 30 kilogram dose of cocaine in the Kentucky forest in 1985. The drugs belonged to a drug trafficker who crashed his plane. Three months later, not far from the crash, the animal's corpse was found, surrounded by 40 torn plastic packets that contained traces of cocaine.
The animal's corpse was auctioned and sold. It is currently displayed in a shopping center north of the city of Lexington.
In Cocainorso, Elizabeth Banks tries to imagine what happened to the huge predator before his death by overdose, reconstructing his drug-altered state, while a group consisting of policemen, criminals, tourists and teenagers hunt him down.
The cast includes Keri Russell, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Alden Ehrenreich, Matthew Rhys, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Kristofer Hivju, Christian Convery, Brooklynn Prince, Margo Martindale, and Ray Liotta.
