During Comic-Con@Home 2021, the new trailer for the horror TV series was shown. Chucky. Introducing him was Don Mancini, the creator of Chucky, the diabolical doll starring in the film saga de Child's Play, whose first chapter (1988), features Tom Holland (Vampire Slayer) as director.
Don Mancini will not only write the series but also direct the first episode.
Consisting of 10 episodes, the first season will air on SyFy and USA Network in the fall of 2021.
The series serves as a sequel to The Cult of Chucky directed by Don Mancini in 2017, ignoring Child's Play (2019), the reboot/remake of the 1988 film.
The cast includes Zackary Arthur, Devon Sawa (Final Destination), Teo Briones, Alyvia Alyn Lind (Daybreak) and Björgvin Arnarson, who will be joined by veterans of the franchise namely Jennifer Tilly, Alex Vincent and Christine Elise (again as Tiffany Valentine, Andy Barclay and Kyle), as well as Fiona Dourif reprising the role of Nica Pierce. In the original version, Chucky is voiced by Brad Dourif as in the saga films.
Instead, historic producer David Kirschner and Harley Peyton (Twin Peaks) appear in the production.
