In addition to the reboot of Puppet Master, also currently in the works is the remake of another horror film by Full Moon Features, the production and film distribution company of Charles Band. This is the remake of Castle Freak, il film scritto e diretto da Stuart Gordon nel 1995 e che vede tra i protagonisti l'icona horror Barbara Crampton. In queste ore è stata proprio l'attrice a parlare di un "universo lovecraftiano ampliato" e a svelare, su Twitter, che la storia del remake presenterà diversi elementi del film originale ma che sarà arricchita da nuovi personaggi.
Produced by Barbara Crampton, Amanda Presmyk, Dallas Sonnier and Charles Band, the remake of Castle Freak sarà diretto da Tate Steinsiek, l'effettista che ha realizzato i pupazzi e gli effetti speciali di Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich.
The original film is based on the short story The Outsider di H.P. Lovecraft e vede alla regia Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, From Beyond - Terrore dall'ignoto, Dagon - La mutazione del male), il quale ha scritto la sceneggiatura insieme a Dennis Paoli.
Plot of Castle Freak (1995): after a tragedy, an American family (Jeffrey Combs, Barbara Crampton, Jessica Dollarhide) inherits an Italian castle in which a deformed being is hiding.
