Thanks to Cat People Film, the shock masterpiece Cannibal Holocaust (Italy - 1980) returns to italian theaters on August 12. The controversial film is directed by Ruggero Deodato (Jungle Holocaust), nicknamed "Monsieur Cannibal" in France precisely because of the cannibal movies he directed.
Considered one of the most famous and controversial films in the cannibal genre and the first true horror film to use the "found footage" technique, Cannibal Holocaust arrives in Italian theaters on Aug. 12, restored in full 4K and banned for under 18s.
Plot: Some journalists go into the Amazon rainforest to make a documentary about a tribe that is said to practice cannibalism. Of the four, however, the trail is lost. The anthropologist Harold Monroe (Robert Kerman) travels to the site to try to track them down but he will find only their camera, which will reveal the tragic fate of the missing boys.
The cast of the film includes Francesca Ciardi, Gabriel Yorke, Luca Barbareschi, Paolo Paoloni, Perry Pirkanen, and Salvatore Basile.
The soundtrack, on the other hand, is by Riz Ortolani, author of more than 200 soundtracks (Castle of Blood, Africa addio, Don't Torture a Duckling).
